What is paleGrass?

paleGrass is an independent studio founded in 2020 with a single focus: creating mature, narrative experiences with emotional weight, cinematic atmosphere and meaningful choice.

Like many players, I searched for story focused games that combined strong storytelling, grounded characters, and mature themes handled with honesty and gravity. When I couldn’t find the experience I wanted, I set out to build it myself.

Since October 2020, paleGrass has been developing Lisa: Silence In The Rain, a dark, character-driven RPG that has reached hundreds of thousands of players. The project continues to grow with new chapters, upgraded visuals, and expanding narrative routes.

paleGrass is, and continues to be, a long-term commitment to telling intimate, dramatic and impactful stories in a medium that deserves them.

Lisa: Silence In The Rain is an adult-themed narrative RPG about love, betrayal, desire and the consequences of every choice you make.

It blends cinematic storytelling, eroticism, drama and mature themes into a dark, emotional journey driven by your decisions.

You play as Lisa, a young college student forced into a violent world far from anything she’s ever known.
Every relationship she forms, every danger she faces and every path she takes pushes her toward one of many branching outcomes. Some tender, some devastating.

The game focuses on:

  • A character-driven story built around vulnerability, intimacy and determination

  • Meaningful choices with long-term impact on routes, scenes and relationships

  • Cinematic CGs and visual storytelling created with high-quality DAZ Studio rendering

  • Mature themes explored seriously, including violence, psychological tension, romance and moral ambiguity

  • A growing, evolving narrative that’s updated regularly

After five years of continuous development and hundreds of thousands of players, Lisa: SITR remains an extremely active project — expanding it’s world, refining it’s visuals and deepening its plot with every update.

FAQs

  • Yes, with the exception of a two week grace period in which subscriptions gain early access.

  • Currently not. New particle systems recently added to the game work with color palettes that cause Android versions to crash. With high probability, this will be remedied in time but it is not a priority at the time of writing.

  • No. I don’t accept paid commissions for content inside or outside of the game. However, I do read all feedback, and many player ideas — both paid and unpaid — have influenced the game over time. I believe strongly in the idea that “there’s no such thing as a bad idea,” so you’re always welcome to share your thoughts. Just don’t take it personally if a suggestion doesn’t make it into the final product.

  • Yes, it’s in the works.

  • There’s no ETA on completion. The game is around 50% complete after 5 years of development so strap in.

  • As policies on major online platforms continue to change, many independent developers face increasing uncertainty when relying on third-party crowdfunding services. Sudden enforcement shifts, opaque moderation decisions, and payment processor restrictions can make long-term development difficult to sustain.

Building and maintaining my own website allows me to remain independent from these external policy changes, protect the continuity of the project, and ensure that development can continue without interruption.

  • It’s extremely unlikely but stranger things have happened.
